I CAN, the children’s communication charity is giving you the chance to exclusively own a bit of the English language for just £15. All proceeds help children who struggle to find the words they need to communicate.

Sara Cox, Radio 1 DJ said: “Adopt A Word is such a great way to mark the new school year for your children – what better gift for school is there than their very own piece of the English language. I adopted the word Blossom, because that’s what I want my kids to do at school, whether it’s academically, creatively, or making friends. Even better, the money goes to I CAN, the children’s communication charity, to help children who find using words really difficult.”

Really I should have adopted the word "tea". I love a good cup of tea, and it is my best friend. So I chose a word as near as possible -which actually isn't that near -"well-oiled". I could have had "tee-joint", but didn't know what it meant. Actually, I think I'm going to have to adopt it -NOW
